Manifesto

Well, my first post...
I'm a university student, a history major, a voracious consumer of great literature, a musician...

Overwhelmed by the endlessly complex mosaic of human civilization...
I hope to chronicle my individual journey through the realms of reason and irreason, and share my discoveries with an audience of both like- and unlike-minded individuals bent on the pursuit of knowledge, offering potential visitors a chance to express themselves as well.

My intent is that this blog does not become one irrevocably tied to a specific subject.
The internet is saturated with intensely focused, obsessive blogs, limited in scope.
I wish to contribute a specimen that I contend is sorely lacking in the contemporary blogosphere-- one that embraces a world of human inquiry, as the name of the blog itself clearly implies.

History, linguistics, music, sociology, psychology, numismatics, mathematics, philosophy, theology, literature, film, politics, anthropology, biology...whatever compels our interest, whatever engages our minds shall be discussed.

Note that responses must be civil; nevertheless, I sincerely promise to refrain from censoring opinions differing from my own, as long as they remain respectful of fellow responders.

All who come across this blog, whether by accident or intent--I implore you to contribute your knowledge and your unique perception of the world, in order to build the foundations of an online community rooted in that fundamental trait that sets Homo Sapiens apart from the rest of the ecosystem--a thirst for enlightenment.
