Domenico Scarlatti Sonata k175

As a lover of Domenico Scarlatti's intensely virtuosic keyboard music, I find this particular sonata to be particularly astounding. Must be the Moorish influence throughout, with the lute-like figuration and harsh tone-clusters. The harpsichord played by Rafael Puyana in this video is a beauty too, being one of the few with three manauls. The sonority is rich and resonant, not conforming to the stereotype of harpsichord music as excessively tinny and twangy at all. Enjoy.
